Cabrera Says He Will Be Ready For Opening Day

DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) Last week, the Tigers new third baseman Miguel Cabrera took a ball off his right eye after the ball took a bad hop. Cabrera, who is scheduled to be re-evaluated tomorrow, says he'll be ready for opening day. Cabrera, who had 8 stitches under his right eye, says he has no pain in his eye, even the swelling is down. According to MLB.com's Jason Beck the only sign that anything happened to Cabrera are the stitches and scar under his right eye.

When asked by Beck if he would be ready for opening day his response was "I'll be ready. Don't worry."

Cabrera, who is at the ballpark today even though he can't participate in any activities, is there to see his friends who play with the Florida Marlins.
