WID-Michigan Hosts A Report from the Field – Afghanistan: Women In Defense Michigan will sponsor "A Report from the Field – Afghanistan," featuring H. A. (Graz) Graziano, vice president, combat support and sustainment, General Dynamics Land Systems, on Tuesday, April 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sterling Inn, 34911 Van Dyke Ave., Sterling Heights. Registration is $40 for WID or National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) members and $50 for non-members. Graziano recently returned from 18 months in Afghanistan, where he oversaw General Dynamics' vehicle support to military customers, including the repair and retrofit of vehicles in garrison and in theater.  A Report from the Field – Afghanistan will offer Graz's detailed view of field operations, providing timely, valuable insight to military suppliers, contractors and supporters. Grand Valley Sets Graduate Showcase: Outstanding graduate students and their faculty mentors at Grand Valley State University will present a wide variety of research and scholarly activities at the Graduate Showcase 2012. "Graduate Showcase: Education for the Future" will be held Tuesday, April 10. James Shiveley, professor of education at Miami University in Ohio, will give the keynote address, "Creating Synergy between Teaching and Research." The program runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium of the DeVos Center at Grand Valley's Pew Grand Rapids Campus, with the keynote at 4:30 and the outstanding poster awards at 5.
