Emergency Landing At Willow Run Airport

YPSILANTI (WWJ) - An single-engine airplane skidded to a stop at Willow Run Airport Thursday afternoon after the pilot forgot to put down the landing gear.

Airport spokesman Mike Conway told WWJ Newsradio 950 the plane's lone propeller was damaged and the belly of the plane was scraped, but the pilot is OK. He said the pilot was trying to practice touch-and-goes when the accident happened.

The runway was closed for a short time until the plane could be towed.

Federal authorities were notified and will investigate.
