Authorities Search Michigan Lake For Missing Teen

PIERSON TWP. (AP) – Authorities are searching a Michigan lake for a 16-year-old boy who has been missing since going fishing in a row boat with two other boys.

TV stations WOOD and WZZM report Montcalm County officials on Friday morning searched Little Whitefish Lake in Pierson Township, about 25 miles northeast of Grand Rapids.

Authorities say the boys went fishing around midnight Thursday and the boat started sinking. Two of the boys made it back to shore and were treated for mild hypothermia.

A helicopter was used early in the search. The sheriff’s department said the lake’s size made it difficult to determine exactly where the accident happened.
