Flight From Detroit Makes Emergency Landing
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Spirit Airlines flight from Detroit to Tampa, Florida made a precautionary landing in Monday morning after the flight crew had reported a problem.
The plane, which was carrying 146 passengers, landed without incident at Knoxville's Metropolitan Airport in Tennessee. The emergency landing was believed to be the result of a possible crack located in the plane's inner windshield.
"The aircraft landed safely and the passengers were brought to the terminal building," said Knoxville airport spokeswoman Becky Huckaby.
A second plane had arrived at the airport early Monday morning to pick up the passengers.
Crews were on the scene as they continued their efforts to repair the aircraft.
