Police Cracking Down On Traffic Violators
DEARBORN, Mich. (WWJ) - Watch your step as you drive around Dearborn for the next few days. Police will be cracking down on traffic violators.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reports that police are responding to a number of complaints from residents, along with the arrival of spring, which brings more traffic and more pedestrians. Patrols will focus on speeding, rolling stops and other moving violations that take place on major roads and around schools.
Along with reminding the driving public about the importance of seat belts, police point out that 20-percent of crashes with injuries were the result of distracted driving, including texting and talking on cell phones, with 40% of all crashes in Dearborn being rear-end collisions.
