Big Week For Tiger And The Tigers

By: Dennis Fithian

This is the best Detroit Tigers lineup and pitching staff in my life time. The Tigers everyday lineup will wear out pitchers. Detroit's starters are as impressive as anyone's in baseball except Philadelphia. Can't expect Jose Valverde to go49-for-49 in save situations this year. It was not talked about very much this offseason but it was encouraging to see that Valverde got more serious about his conditioning losing a reported 40 pounds.

Which brings me to where many go but don't see as a major hurdle and that's the Tigers overall defense.

After injuries it would be the defense that would doom the Tigers post season hopes.

That also brings me to my predictions

Tigers 90-72
AL Central
Tigers, Indians, Twins, Royals, White Sox
Big key: Alex Avila, nobody thought he would have the year he had last year. Now Detroit needs him to be as durable and productive as he was last year.
Bold prediction: Brandon Inge will be off the roster for good by July Bold prediction: Miguel Cabrera worked hard to lose weight and was a team guy for trying to make the switch to 3rd. I know it hasn't looked like a train wreck in spring training but I think it will be. I'll give the experiment till mid May.
Postseason yes but I'm stopping short of a World Series prediction.

76th Masters winner? Tiger Woods, he's back and will win his fifth green jacket and 15th major.
