TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Ryan Raburn's two-run triple highlighted a five-run third inning, and the Detroit Tigers beat the Toledo Mud Hens 8-3 in an exhibition game Wednesday.
Rick Porcello pitched 4 2-3 innings for Detroit, allowing three runs and seven hits against the team's Triple-A affiliate.
Sluggers Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder each came to the plate twice before being replaced, but it was the rest of the Tigers who did most of the damage. Jhonny Peralta opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second. Cabrera, Delmon Young and Alex Avila each had run-scoring singles an inning later.
The Tigers open the regular season Thursday against the Boston Red Sox.
