Florida Pastor Plans Protest Outside Of Mosque Saturday

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Reverend Terry Jones is back in southeast Michigan. The Florida pastor known for a Quran burning will be leading a protest outside a mosque Saturday in Dearborn.

Jones, who is listed as the senior pastor of the World Dove Outreach Center, spent some time with Talk Radio WXYT's Doc Thompson Friday afternoon and said that it's an important first amendment right to free speech and right to protest.

A federal judge ruled the city could not require him to clear it of liability in exchange for a protest permit.

The burning of a Quran at Jones' Florida church in 2011 led to violent protests in Afghanistan that killed more than a dozen people.
