Friend Reflects On Loss Of Jacob Burns, One Of The Victims In Double Murder Suicide

WALLED LAKE (WWJ ) - Visitation is being held Monday in Walled Lake for 19-year-old Jacob Burns, one of the victims of a double murder suicide last week.

Burns would have turned 20 years old on Easter Sunday, a birthday he shared with his good friend Kyle Morgan.

"That was my best friend (I'm doing) the best I can, I guess," said Morgan. "Just trying to be here for everyone."

"It just doesn't make any sense ... it's all over a ... relationship - it's just ... I don't know how that kid could do this," he said.

Morgan is referring to Brian White, who police say went to the home of his ex-girlfriend and killed her 46-year-old mother, Angela Staperfene, and Burns with an ax and then killed himself.

Morgan says he and five other friends got tattoos with Jacob's name to remember him.

"He was a great guy, he'd do anything for anyone, nice, funny. Just the kind of friend anyone would want to have," added Morgan.

A funeral will be held for Jacob Burns on Tuesday.
