DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Tigers already have had their Opening Day at Comerica Park.

Now, it’s time for the kids to have theirs.

The club has pronounced Sunday as Kids Opening Day at the downtown ballpark where the defending American League Central division champions host the Boston Red Sox.

Kids 14-and-under are to receive an “Every Kid, Every Sunday” calendar.

In addition, 23 Kids Opening Day essay contest winners are to participate in a variety of roles, including honorary starting lineup announcer, honorary radio broadcast announcer and honorary groundskeeper.
