Are we prematurely hyped? Of course we are. Do the Tigers present cause for the hype? Of course they do.

So I’m piling on. I discussed this on the radio with Jamie Samuelsen and I wrote about it in the Detroit News. It’s half-silly, half-trite and all-fun.

Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder already have combined for five home runs and 11 RBIs in the Tigers’ 3-0 start. The lineup is much deeper than just those two, but they’re the standouts, in size and stature. And I offer these possible monikers for the duo:

The Prince and the Popper
Miggy and Biggy

Come on, they’re not bad! Jamie will be at the game against Tampa Bay today to look for anyone with a sign touting either phrase. He will take a picture. He might even give you a hug. It’s a long season, and there’s no sense delaying the hyperbolic fun!
