WWJ's Vickie Thomas Throws Out First Pitch
What's it like to wind one up for the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park? WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas found out first hand just before Tuesday's game.
"It was a little bit surreal," she said, speaking live from the park on WWJ Newsradio 950. "It's one of those bucket list items you want to check off, to actually throw out the first pitch."
Thomas said they don't allow guest pitchers to actually stand on the mound.
"You have to pick a spot between that and home plate," she said.
According to Thomas, who threw to Andy Dirks, she did "pretty good."
"I think it was a strike. It was in that strike zone ... a little bit to the left, but I think it did get over the plate," she said.
