Police: Gun-Wielding Teens Beat Homeless Man And Wife

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Pontiac police are hunting for four teens accused of punching a homeless woman and her husband after saying they "didn't belong" in the neighborhood.

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies said the incident happened at 5 p.m. Sunday when a homeless couple -- a 29-year-old wife and 30-year-old husband -- were approached on Baldwin Street by four young black teens, estimated at 13 to 14 years old.

"The suspects made comments about the victims not belonging in the neighborhood," the Sheriff's Department said in a press release, adding, "One of the suspects produced what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at the female victim."

Another one of the suspects then began punching the female victim's face, while a third teen began punching the male victim. The suspects eventually fled the scene before deputies arrived.

They left behind one piece of evidence, police said: a baseball hat. Deputies requested a K-9 team to track the group, but  didn't turn up any signs of them.

The woman was left with a bloody nose, but both she and her husband refused medical attention, deputies said. They're staying at the Baldwin Shelter in Pontiac.

The perpetrators are described as 13 to 14 years old, approximately 5 foot 5 inches to 6 feet tall and thin, weighing 140 – 150 pounds. They were all wearing jeans and T-shirts.
