NFL Action Not For Everyone Says Detroit Lions Lineman Dominic Raiola
DETROIT (WWJ/97.1 The Ticket) - Current Detroit Lions lineman Dominic Raiola has some thoughts about former players suing the NFL claiming they weren't protected from head injuries. Among those filing a lawsuit was former Lions great Alex Karras, who was diagnosed with dementia.
Raiola says players get roughed-up every play, but it's part of the job.
"Whatever happens, gonna happen, gonna happen. Whether it be short-term memory loss or that's, those are all the rigors of this job. That's why it's not for everybody ... it takes a unique individual to play this," said Raiola.
Karras has been diagnosed with dementia. The NFL has said it has taken action to better protect players.
