Detroit History: From One Driver's Seat To Another

Fifty years ago now-Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney's father George Romney quit the car-making business to try his luck at politics, with his entry-level office Governor of Michigan.

The elder Romney won all 3 of his elections. He also solved his era's dire state financial crisis.

But the U.S. Presidency proved beyond Romney's reach ... although he did make it to the White House Cabinet.
