Woman Charged In Death Of 5-Month-Old Daughter

BRONSON (AP) - A 22-year-old woman in southern Michigan is charged with murder in the death of her 5-month-old daughter, who prosecutors say had a skull fracture.

The Daily Reporter of Coldwater, WTVB-TV and WOOD-TV report Mariela Flores-Valle, who was living in Bronson, is charged in the February death of her daughter, 5-month-old Diane Perez.

Defense lawyer David Moore waived arraignment Wednesday and bond was set at $100,000. She's due back in court May 16 for a preliminary hearing.

A message seeking comment from Moore was left Thursday by The Associated Press.

An autopsy determined the Diane died of blunt force trauma to the head. Child Protective Services removed the child's twin brother and two other children from the home.
