Trust Fund Set-Up For Children Of Bob Cipriano

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ)  - Masses were held Sunday at St. Fabian Catholic Church in Farmington Hills ... where the Cipriano family belongs.

The parish held a fundraiser in the wake of Bob Cipriano's murder at the hands, allegedly of his son and a friend of his. His wife and another son were critically injured in the brutal attack.

The Parish held a pancake breakfast after each mass to raise money for the Cipriano children.

Mark Vogel is with the Knights of Columbus and helped out.

"It's just one of those things that hits hard when it's that close to home - you think it won't happen to you - but it's just a time when we need to help them and pray to God that they can heal," said Vogel.

"It was a very tragic event and so what we tried to do is to come together as a community to support each other and we (had) a fundraising breakfast (Sunday) morning to try to help the family, the Cipriano family, there has been a trust fund set up for the children," said Vogel.

"I think everybody is still in shock ... the Cipriano's are great people. Bob was just a beautiful man and just so generous, he touched so many people's lives, with his coaching and just a really nice family. It's just hard for all of us," said Lisa Perry, a member of St. Fabian Parish.

Detroit Catholic Central, where the Cirpriano boys attend school, is holding a candle light vigil Sunday night.

Visitation for Bob Cipriano is Monday and Tuesday at McCabe Funeral Home in Farmington Hills and his funeral is on Wednesday.

Donations to the children may be made to the Cipriano Children's Trust in care of McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 West Twelve Mile Road, Farmington Hills 48334.
