ANN ARBOR (WWJ) – Traffic was backed up early Monday afternoon due to a major freeway closure in the Ann Arbor area.

I-94 was closed in both directions between Jackson Road and M-14 due to an accident. Police told WWJ Newsradio 950 that an SUV overturned shortly after 10:30 a.m. A semi truck driver was trying to avoid the accident when he lost control and crashed into the median wall.

The driver was trapped but has since been rescued. A total of three people were taken to University of Michigan Hospital. All injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

I-94 was closed for several hours as crews worked to repair the wall.  The freeway has since reopened in both directions.
