Mayor Bing Makes Appearance At MS Walk Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ)  - Detroit Mayor Dave Bing made his first public appearance Sunday since he was hospitalized.

He and his wife Yvette served as honorary co-chairs of "Walk MS Detroit" to raise money to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

The Mayor providing opening remarks to those on hand saying that MS has touched his family.

"Thank everybody for coming out ... this is the third year we've marched - that we've walked. As Yvette said, she had a twin sister that had left us several years ago because of MS," said Bing.

Mrs. Bing says the mayor was a good patient but he is ready to get back to work.

Yvette Bing said that his progress continues and, "he is getting better everyday."

His first official day back on the job will be Monday.
