OAK PARK (WWJ) - Oak Park police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of a car involved in a hit and run that critically injured an elderly woman Friday evening.

Police say 78-year-old Rita Mazur was walking to the store to buy milk on Greenfield near Lincoln at around 6:30 p.m. when she was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene.  Police don't have any information on the vehicle.

Mazur remained hospitalized in critical condition on Monday with multiple broken bones. She has reportedly not regained consciousness since the crash.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Oak Park Public Safety at (248) 691-7520.
