What's Your Question? Free Legal Advice During Law Day Session

DETROIT (WWJ) - Does the idea of free legal advice sound appealing?

WWJ's Pat Sweeting tells us about the 55th Annual Law Day Session - a 2-day event - offers free legal advice in a variety of areas, often to people who did not know where to turn for help and have waited until the last-minute to find someone who can guide them.

Detroit attorney Andrew Labreche is among those providing a variety of law services.

"Anything from credit issues, child custody - domestic, contract interpretation, I mean it really runs the gambit," said Labreche.

But Andrew Labreche says some people do try to get ahead of their problems.

"We had a woman come in with a question about a severance contract that she had and has gotten a job offer that she thinks might violate the provisions of that agreement - so she is trying to be proactive about it," said Labreche.
People seeking advice on matters like landlord-tenant disputes, bankruptcy, and divorce questions are among the many subjects the attorneys on hand will cover.

Law Day is open to anyone, regardless of income.

Part two of Law Day gets underway Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at 36th District Court in Detroit.
