DETROIT (WWJ) – A day after Chrysler opened its doors on Griswald – Comerica Bank held a grand opening for its new Michigan headquarters just around the block on Lafayette.
Two years and $17 million the nine story building has been renovated inside and out – Detroit City Councilman Ken Cockrel Jr. spoke with WWJ’s Stephanie Davis.
“The more businesses that we can attract the more businesses we are able to retain and the more households we are able to attract and retain – the stronger the city of Detroit is going to be,”said Cockrel.
Thomas Ogden the president of Comerica Bank says that, “those of us who currently live or work in the city have really been pleased to see more businesses starting to move in.”
The new Comerica will house about a thousand employees and we’re told it will not be your normal retail banking center.
