DETROIT (WWJ) – It’s one of the most well-known restaurants in Detroit, but in a week it will be closing. The Wolfgang Puck Grille, located inside the MGM Grand Detroit casino, will be closing after Mother’s Day.

MGM Grand Detroit officials, meanwhile, say they will be opening up a new sports bar in place of the fine dining establishment.

In a statement, a rep for the Hotel says the new restaurant will pay tribute to Michigan’s industrial and architectural history, and celebrate downtown Detroit’s sporting heritage.
