GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Cornerstone University says it has hired ex-Detroit Shock player Katie Mattera as women’s basketball coach.

The Grand Rapids school said Tuesday that Mattera replaces Carla Fles who retired after 14 years at Cornerstone.

The 29-year-old former Katie Feenstra is a Grand Rapids native and played at Liberty University. She spent five years in the WNBA with the San Antonio Silver Star, Detroit Shock and Atlanta Dream.
