Ron MacLean said some pretty dumb things on Wednesday night during the opening of CBC’s Game 6 broadcast of the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers series.

For reasons that can’t really be explained at this point, MacLean decided to use his introduction to talk about the 9/11 terrorist attacks and compare members of the Rangers and Capitals to police officers and firefighters.

For real.
