Traffic Flowing After Semi-Truck Accident Cleared From I-96

BRIGHTON (WWJ)  - Traffic is flowing again along eastbound 96 near Brighton -- after a rollover accident backed up traffic for hours.

WWJ's Stephanie Davis reports that early Friday afternoon a semi-truck pulling two haulers went  flying off the road and into a ditch on I-96 at Pleasant Valley near Brighton - blocking traffic for hours, and spilling fuel in a nearby pond.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the accident but is expected to be okay.

"In the condition and the shape of everything I think he should go play the lotto," said Robert Hopp a contractor in charge of towing.

Now that fire crews have a boom around the fuel spill they will work through the week to absorb the fuel out of the water.
