Interest In MET Program Increasing As Fast As Tuition Rates

FARMINGTON (WWJ ) - Officials from the Michigan Education Trust are in the Detroit area Monday signing up parents. The MET plans allows parents to pre-pay their child's college tuition at today's rates.

Executive Director Robin Lott says with tuition on the rise each year, MET is becoming more popular.

"Our goal for the year was to sell 3,000 contracts in total but we thought we would sell 1,000 by the end of April and we've actually sold close to 1,800 so really tells us that it is on top of mind for most parents," said Lott.

The MET sign up is taking place at the Farmington Community Library through 8 p.m.
