Motorist Injured In Collision With Fire Truck

DETROIT (WWJ) - An accident on Detroit's west side has put a man in the hospital and banged up a Dearborn fire engine.

The rig was on its way to a fire with lights flashing and sirens blaring when it was hit by a car at Ford Road and Wyoming. The impact was so strong fire officials said the engine was pushed off the road.

No fire fighters were hurt, but the man driving the vehicle was taken to the hospital.

There has been no official word as to his condition, but police said his injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

No names have been released.   The crash remains under investigation.
