Former Pistons 'Bad Boy' Moving Back To Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Former Detroit Pistons Bad Boy John Salley said he may be back in town for good.

Salley, who used to live in the old Cardinal Mooney mansion, said his move back to the Motor City is about 99 percent certain. He now lives in Los Angeles with his family.

"You can report it, John Salley is moving back to Detroit, Michigan," Salley told WWJ's Sandra McNeill.

Salley said he'd love to return to his former home in the city's Palmer Woods district, but he'll probably be looking for some new digs.

"I would love to be back in there. My daughters weren't born when I lived there and they would love to run through that house, but you know, it depends," he said.

Regardless where he ends up living in the city, one thing is for sure, Salley just can't wait to be back.

"I miss everything about this wonderful city. This city is going through its situations but it's definitely a wonderful place," he said.

Salley, the only NBA player to play on three different championship-winning teams, retired from basketball in 2000 after playing with the Pistons, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers and became host of the now-defunct sports talk show "The Best Damn Sports Show Period." A vegan, he now runs a blog at JohnSalley.com
