WEST BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) – A 74-year-old West Bloomfield Township woman is in police custody following the shooting death of her 17-year-old grandson.
Officials say officers found the teenager after responding late Friday afternoon to reports of shots fired in the home. The teen was pronounced dead Friday evening at an area hospital. His grandmother was taken to a hospital for observation where she remains in custody.
A handgun was recovered at the home.
Officers had responded in March to a disturbance at the home and were told the teen’s parents live in Arizona.
