Fenton Man Fined By Canadian Courts After Leaving Bear Carcass In Woods

FENTON (AP) - A Canadian court has fined a Michigan hunter $1,250 for leaving a bear carcass to rot.

Chris Beckman from the Fenton area shot the black bear in 2010. Authorities barred him from hunting black bear in Ontario for one year.

The Ministry of Natural Resources conservation and Canada Border Services Agency officers found Beckman with the bear's hide.

Officers later found the black bear's body in the woods.
