Sunny Skies And Warm Temps Mean It's Time For Extra Skin Protection

DETROIT (WWJ) - Many people are enjoying the recent 80-plus degree weather and spending time outdoors. And strong sun means you should be seeking shade, protective clothing and plenty of sunscreen.

And, doctors say, don't forget to check for warning signs of skin cancer.

Dermatologist Henry Lim says look for unusual skin growths.

The general principle is any skin growth that is changing and starts to get larger; that start to get darker, that starts to bleed and doesn't go away, then it will be worthwhile to consult your local dermatologist.

WWJ's Pat Sweeting: "..also look at the borders. Anything  irregular -- that should be a warning sign..."

Dr. Lim: "Absolutely".
