Raburn Placed On Bereavement List; Worth Recalled

Detroit Tigers starting second baseman Ryan Raburn will not be with the team for the three-game set with the Cleveland Indians. Raburn was placed on the bereavement list, which is used for a player who needs to attend to a serious illness or  death in the family. MLB rules state the player requires a minimum stay of three games and a maximum of seven.

Danny Worth has been called up from the Toledo Mud Hens to replace Raburn. Worth will back up Ramon Santiago, who is expected to start for Raburn in his absence. The move of recalling Worth only leaves the Tigers with four outfielders if Austin Jackson isn't able to return. Worth is hitting .176 and a .300 OBP during his time with the Tigers this season.
