Jackson Still Bothered By Abdominal Strain

CF Austin Jackson, out since May 16 with an abdominal strain, was yanked from Detroit's starting lineup Tuesday night when he felt discomfort during batting practice. He has now missed six games since being removed mid-game when he hurt himself swinging at a pitch. "I think it'll be fine in a little bit," he said. Jackson said he felt fine swinging but there was tightness when he ran. He was replaced by CF Don Kelly and his absence meant the Tigers had no reserve outfielders. Jackson may miss the rest of the Cleveland series and could wind up out of action for another week if the Tigers decide to put him on the disabled list and backdate it one week.
