Lions fans may not be happy to hear this but Aaron Berry is going to be your starting cornerback when the 2012 NFL season begins. The same Aaron Berry that dropped two possible interceptions in last year’s playoff game versus the New Orleans Saints. I’ve noticed the Lions fondness of Berry since he was signed as an undrafted free agent 3 years ago. They’ve always talked about how good he can be and all the upside that he posses.

Then today Tim Twentymen writer for the Lions website tweeted that defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham said this of Berry: “This guy can play. He’s one of the finest cover guys I’ve seen in a long time.” I don’t think Berry is as bad as many fans seem to think he is. I actually think he can be a productive solid starter in the NFL. And it looks like the Detroit Lions are going to give him every chance to prove that this year whether fans like it or not.
