Was There Online Bragging About Running From The Cops Before Crash?

WATERFORD (WWJ) - The Waterford Police Department is releasing new information in connection with an accident earlier this week that seriously injured a police officer.

WWJ's Beth Fisher reports that police have interviewed the motorcycle rider who was allegedly speeding at the time.

Chief Dan McCaw says they continue to investigate and will forward information to the prosecutor's office, to see if any charges will be coming against this motorcyclist.

McCaw says the motorcyclist, who is in his 20s,  may have been bragging about speeding in other areas and bragging about it to friends online and asks anyone with information to contact the Waterford police department.

"We have received reports of that type of information - we are trying to confirm that, once again that's still part of the investigation. Our understanding is that he's boasted that he has run from several law enforcement agencies over the past several months," said McCaw.

The man is not under arrest but police have recovered his motorcycle.

K9 Officer Annette Miller,  a  22-year veteran of the force, who was critically injured in the crash following the chase, is undergoing more surgery at the hospital. Miller's K9 partner was injured in the crash and is recovering.
