Police: Man Sexually Assaulted Teen On Way To School

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police in Detroit are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect accused in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.

Police say the incident happened on Tuesday around 5:15 a.m. when the teen was walking down the street on her way to the school bus stop.

Police say the suspect approached the girl and attempted to engage in conversation with her. That's when the suspect reportedly produced a weapon and forced the victim into an alley and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the area.

The wanted suspect is described as a black male, approximately 21-years-old with a thin build, dark complexion and scruffy beard. He was wearing a red baseball hat, sweater with a hood, dark jeans and was armed.
