Toledo's Hollywood Casino Ready For Its Close Up

TOLEDO, Ohio (WWJ) - Blackjack, roulette, poker and plenty of slot machines will be available south of the border starting today.  Toledo will open its first casino at 2 p.m.

The Hollywood Casino has an old Hollywood glamour theme with giant black and white photos of late stars like Humphrey Bogart.  Local bands will have free performances seven nights a week and the casino is packed with over 2000 slots and plenty of table games.

"We have 60 blackjack tables and 20 poker tables," said Brian Hopkins, the slot manager at the casino.  "… We have blackjack and Caribbean stud, 3 card poker, craps tables.  You name it, we have it here."

The Director of Table Games, Neal Perry, says the casino will cater to the sports nut, too.

"You'll see a TV, you turn to your right, you'll see a TV," Perry said. "One thing for sure, you'll never be able to miss any sporting event or any highlight cause we have over 220 TVs in this whole casino."

London Johnson, a Detroit residence, will be working full time at the casino.  Johnson will make the hour drive to Toledo five days a week.

"I'm just excited," said Johnson.  "… The gas is a little high, but it's worth it."
