More and more, it seems that an epidemic is spreading in the world of baseball…bad umpiring! Whether it’s a Second Base Ump missing the call on a guy sliding or a First Base Umpire whose feelings are hurt because a Manager says something from the bench, Umpires in baseball need to understand that the game is NOT ABOUT THEM!

Nobody buys a ticket to a baseball game to see Laz Diaz or C.B. Buckner for crying out loud. We buy tickets to see the players perform, so if you’re going to screw up calls on the field or at the plate, please make sure you don’t get all thin skinned and run the players out of the game.

So, if you can’t tell that I’m not a big fan of Umpires in baseball, perhaps this will illustrate that point!
