Firefighters Lift Car Off Man After Parking Lot Accident

Southfield (WWJ)- A Berkley man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car in the parking lot of a Kroger store.

Troy police say a 78-year old woman from Franklin was pulling into a parking space at the store on Coolidge around 1:45 p.m. Saturday when she hit the man. 

The 69-year old man was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital after firefighters lifted the 2011 Cadillac off him, according to a statement from police. 

Police say alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident.

The incident remains under investigation. 

Police are asking any witnesses to call 248-524-3477 if they have information about the accident.
