DETROIT (WWJ) - General Motors’ front door got an unwelcome visit Sunday afternoon when someone turned the Renaissance Center’s main entry into a drive-thru.
Police say an unidentified 26-year-old man crashed his Chevy Monte Carlo through the front glass doors of the Ren Cen, right between two GM cars on display. The driver was not injured, but the glass doors have been blocked with plywood and two sawhorses until permanent repairs are made.
The driver was taken into custody and was being evaluated. Police say the man may be mentally challenged, but there is no word on what led him to drive through the glass doorway.
