Fabulous Michigan Hats Sent To England
DETROIT (WWJ) - Renowned Metro Detroit designer Luke Song has sent hundreds of his hats, known as "fascinators," across the pond to Brits eager to celebrate this final day of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Song said there's nothing quite like seeing one of his feathered razzle-dazzle creations.
"You'd go into a room with ladies in facinators and you just can't avoid them," he told WWJ Newsradio 950's Kathryn Larson. "It's there and you're just forced to recognize that it's there. I think that's just so great."
Song has designed for everyone from the British Royals -- to the Queen of Soul - Aretha Franklin.
He said he'll be watching -- hoping to see some of his fascinators on TV.
But if you want one, ladies, be prepared to pay. Song's hats typically range in price from $700 to several thousand dollars.
