Ticket's Jimmy Powers Wins Lincoln In Hole-In-One Contest With Video

DETROIT -- 97.1 The Ticket's own program director Jimmy Powers hit a hole-in-one Wednesday at the Detroit Lions golf invitational.

What does that mean? He gets to drive away in a brand-new Lincoln, the top prize.

The Detroit Lions confirmed the news on their Twitter feed.

Oddly enough, as Powers left the office to head to the golf outing, someone pointed out that he could win a car -- and he jokingly said he wouldn't want to pay the taxes on it. Evan Jankens, the webmaster, said he would take it.

And then Powers won it -- 165 yards with a six iron.

"You've seen my car, I need a new one," Powers said, calling the Karsch and Anderson show and describing the media circus that immediately surrounded him.

"It was actually funny because you never believe it and you go into shock, you never believe it..." Powers said, adding, "It still hasn't set in yet."

He described his swing as "nice and easy ... One hop and it trickled in."

So, is he giving Jankens the car?

"We'll talk about it," Powers said, laughing.

The Lions' Stephen Tulloch, who was also playing, said Powers seems to have a new swagger.

"He's doing a good job of keeping his poise as best he can," Tulloch said. "He had a hole in one, what's the odds of that?"

Here is the car that Jimmy won!
