The other night the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs to advance to the NBA finals. At least that’s what all the media outlets will tell you. But in my mind they’ll always be the Seattle Supersonics. I hate it when teams that have history pick up and move leaving their fans in the dust. The Supersonics have won a championship and would’ve won another with the dynamic duo of Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton if it wasn’t for Michael Jordan. Plus Ice Cube’s “Today was a Good Day” song would just sound weird if he used the Thunder instead of the Supersonics! So as everyone else watches the Thunder play in the NBA finals I’ll be thinking about Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton and the Supersonics.
