Pontiac Man Shot To Death After Argument

Southfield (WWJ)- A Pontiac man is in the Oakland County jail awaiting charges after a shooting left one man dead and another in the hospital.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department says Frederick Acha-Caragena, 22, died at McLaren Hospital in Pontiac after he was shot multiple times, including in the chest, Friday evening.

Deputies were called to the 100 block of Stegman Lane near Kennett Street on a report of shots fired.  A preliminary investigation showed there was an argument before the shooting.

Acha-Caragena's brother was shot in the leg.  He is expected to recover.

Using information from detectives and the Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Team, the 22-year old suspect was arrested early Saturday morning in Wyoming, Michigan, by Wyoming police, Kent County Sheriff's deputies and Grand Rapids police.

A report is expected to be sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor's office Monday.  Prosecutors will decide what charges to file.
