For the ninth time this season the Tigers have had to place a player on the disabled list. Reliever Octavio Dotel heads to the 15-day DL with right elbow inflammation. Luke Putkonen has been recalled once again from Toledo.

Tigers gear up for three with the lowly Cubs starting tonight. Chicago has lost 8 of 10. Max Scherzer faces lefty Paul Maholm.

Jhonny Peralta has been activated off the paternity list and will return tonight.
