Three Biggest Question Marks Remaining About The Lions
By: Pat Caputo
The Lions begin their 3-day mandatory mini-camp today. Several questions remain surrounding the team. These are three of them:
1. Who will start at the cornerback spot opposite Chris Houston? Aaron Berry? Rookie third-round draft pick Bill Bentley? To me, those are the two most talented of the candidates, but they are, to say the least, raw. Will the Lions make a trade for a veteran corner?
2. Will rookie first-round draft choice Riley Reiff push Gosder Cherilus for the starting right offensive tackle spot. Reiff is just too good a player to not be on the field.
3. How will the Cliff Avril situation work out. Both Avril and the Lions would benefit from him getting a long-term contract. So how come it isn't done?
