3 Kids, Dog Hit By Vehicle In West Michigan

ASHLAND TOWNSHIP  (AP) - Authorities say a driver hit three children who were walking along a West Michigan road, sending them to hospitals with injuries.

MLive.com reports the crash happened Tuesday night in Newaygo County's Ashland Township, about 25 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

Officials say the injured girl and two boys are between the ages of 9 and 14. One was taken to a hospital by helicopter and two others were transported via ambulance.

The driver of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries. A dog that was with the children and was struck died at the scene.
