Tigers closer Jose Valverde will not face any discipline from Major League Baseball after his alleged spitball incident on Sunday night, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.

“We have spoken to the club, and there will be no discipline,” Pat Courtney, an MLB spokeman, wrote in an email to Iott.
